Bushes, Shrubs, and Hedges

All live plants featured here include their scientific name, common name, zones in which they thrive, and sun or shade requirement. Each page is categorized alphabetically for easy perusal (links at the bottom of each page).

Many people think that shrubs, edges and bushes are just green plants. Although this holds true for many species, some of these plants also produce beautiful flowers and give added fragrance and gorgeous colors to your landscaping. Lilacs, for example (page 4), would fall in this category.  Whether you are looking to define the lines of your property, give some privacy to your yard or garden, add a little bit of shade, hide an ugly fence or area, or fill empty spots in your garden, flower beds or any other parts of your landscape, adding a bush, shrub or edges will provide the finished look you want to accomplish.  

With well over 100 species to choose from, it's difficult to find the perfect ONE.  If you're anything like me, you have somewhat of an idea of what you're looking for when you start.  But once you see all these varieties and so many choices available, it's so easy to get confused and almost impossible to pick just one!
